Annual General Meeting 2009 - Minutes

 

Date: August 3rd 2009

 

Attendance: Mick Wills, Anthony Barnes, Steve Ingham, Carl Polo, Dusan Stoevski, Lauren Oxford, Shane Gourlay, Justin Altus, Sean Halge, Bill Quirk, Michael Rizio, John Christou, Mel Efstathiou.

  1. Minutes of last AGM – Read by Mick Wills. Seconded Steve Ingham.

 

  1. Correspondence – Secretary

 

No further news on Essendon Cricket Club/Fairbairn Park proposal. ASJCC to await further information, and SW to keep committee and club members up to date with any developments. SW to address committee at next meeting if any further information. Advised that association fees were going up this season per team. SW will advise any further information at next committee meeting.

  1. Election of Committee –

 

Mick Wills (President), Stephen Wills (Secretary), Anthony Barnes (Treasurer), Steve Ingham & Carl Polo all re-elected unopposed.

 

Dusan Stoevksi & Daniel Siomos do not seek re-election. Mel Efstathiou & Sean Halge nominate for these two vacant positions. Seconded by Mick Wills.

 

2009/10 Committee –
Mick Wills (President), Stephen Wills (Secretary), Anthony Barnes (Treasurer), Mel Efstathiou, Sean Halge, Steve Ingham, Carl Polo.

 

 

 

  1. General Business

 

- Teams for 2009/10 season
ASJCC will field 3 Teams this season. 1st XI will play A Grade Matting, 2nd XI will play B Grade Matting. 3rd XI will play in the One Day competition, with the actual grade to be determined at the next committee meeting.

 

- Newsletter
Raging success last season. Lauren Oxford will happily continue to compile this and circulate it.

 

-Social committee
Recommended that the social committee is not continued with, rather that we open the chance to discuss social events at committee level and ask for anybody’s assistance without the function of an actual committee.

 

- Club Shirts
Committee agrees to Laurel Hotel & River Pizza & Pasta to be featured on our playing shirts & tracksuits. Shirt, Tracksuit & Cap will be given to each player as part of their membership with membership price to rise to $130 per person & $80 for students. These details will be finalised at next committee meeting.

 

- Season Launch Party
Approved, to be held at Laurel Hotel on Thursday 10/9. Tim Watson to be guest speaker at cost of $750. Each attendee will be charged $20 which will include the price of their meal ($12). ASJCC will use the remaining $8 to contribute towards the cost of the speaker. Other speaker options are discussed but Tim Watson is the final decision. SI to organise and run the night.

 

- Player Auction
To be featured at Season Launch Party. SI to also run this. AB to provide SI with a receipt book to help keep tabs on who has paid what, and where that money has gone.

 

- Sponsorships 09/10
Laurel Hotel, River Pizza & Pasta to be Major Sponsors.
CUB to become new liquor supplier.
Legends Trophies to continue as trophy supplier.

 

- Membership
Players Membership will go up to $130 from $100 voted 5-1 on the night (SW not in attendance). Social & Ladies Memberships to be discussed at next committee meeting.

 

- Canteen Prices
To remain the same as in 08/09, with no change for members or non members.

 

- Liquor Supplier
CUB to be new liquor supplier. SI will place orders and pay for each order, with AB to reimburse him through the canteen for his purchases.
- Future Purchases
Put on hold until further information comes available with regard to our lease at Fairbairn Park. This will come up at a committee meeting down the track once we have that information.

 

- New Club baseball cap
To be plain navy blue with sky blue ASJCC logo in line with ‘Baggy Blue’. These will be distributed with Membership and made available to any non-members through Two Blues Shop. To be finalised at next committee meeting.

 

- Membership Packs
SI to update the contents of these packs at next committee meeting. These packs will be given to people as they pay membership.

 

- Ladies Day/Past Players Day
To be discussed at next committee meeting.

 

- New Players Recruitment Drive
To be discussed at next committee meeting.

 

- Captaincy 2009/10
MW to send invite out to all club members to express their interest in captaining any of the teams. These nominees will be discussed and decided at next committee meeting.

 

- Online Car Boot Sale/Market Stall/Pie Drive
To be discussed at next committee meeting.
